Can you store food in your garage for later sale?
I live in Oregon.
I plan on starting a food cart and need to know where I can legally store my food.
I know that it can’t be stored in my personal refrigerator, but I’m told it can be in stored in a separate fridge in my garage.
I have an inspector coming too check out the garage, but I worry about what kind of laws or requirements need to be met for me to do this.
Also how expensive is the permit for this?
As long as your garage is clean, safe, and free of rats, insects your fine. Keep in mind that if you serve expired, contaminated food you risk being sued.
